President Saakashvili leaves for Vilnius

On May 3 President Mikheil Saakashvili left for Vilnius on a three-day visit to attend an international conference "Vilnius Conference 2006: Common Vision for Common Neighborhood".

Today President Saakashvili will meet with the President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union Javier Solana, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko and the Foreign Minister of Spain Miguel Moratinos. Bilateral meetings are also expected to take place.

On May 4 President Saakashvili will participate in an opening ceremony of the conference and will make an address on "The Problems and Prospects of Consolidating Democracy in Eastern Europe".

The same day Mikheil Saakashvili will meet with his Polish and Latvian counterparts - Lech Kaczynski and Vaira Vike-Fraiberga, and the US Vice President Dick Cheney.

By the end of the visit the President will participate in an opening ceremony of the Vilnius wine days organized by a wine club.

President Mikheil Saakasahvili will return to Georgia on May 5.
