The President of Georgia toured a contemporarily designed High School of Natural Sciences in Zugdidi

 

The President of Georgia toured a contemporarily designed High School of Natural Sciences named after Alexandre Gurtskaia and attended the study process. Billboards related to history of country’s heroes history will be installed in various schools by the initiative of the President. Mikheil Saakashvili symbolically hanged the first billboard at the High School of Natural Sciences.

“Georgia’s national heroes are persons, who have sacrificed themselves for Georgia in unequal fights, which in the recent years. It is their merit that we have a chance to build such wonderful schools and have such beautiful children learning in the Georgian language and other languages without being dictated by the conqueror. True development and advancement is only possible in a free country. Freedom needs protection, especially when you have a hundred times larger conqueror” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

The Head of State spoke to the students of the High School of Natural Sciences about history of national heroes and love towards homeland. While talking to them, he underscored heroism of Giorgi Antsukhelidze during the august war.

“Giorgi Antsukhelidze was our fighter, whom Russian troops captivated. Since humiliation was the goal of our enemy, the fighter from Tusheti said ‘I am Georgia! I am fighting not for my life but for honor of my country and I have no right to kneel before the enemy!’ – this is what heroism is and Giorgi Antsukhelidze is Georgia for me today”

Later today Mikheil Saakashvili awarded founders of the High School of Natural Sciences Alexandre and Jimsher Gurtskaias with Presidential Orders of Excellence.

By request of the President of Georgia the high school was built in the place of the # 7 Zugdidi public school, which was almost destroyed and its status taken away. A profession college of contemporary design will be built nearby by innitiative of the President of Georgia within the scope of the new project.
