President Saakashvili travels to Baku for GUAM summit

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan on 18 June for a two-day visit during which he will attend a summit of leaders of GUAM member states. GUAM is a regional alliance that brings together Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.

On 18 June Saakashvili will hold a face-to-face meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He will also meet the presidents of Poland and Lithuania during the visit.

On 19 June the heads of state of GUAM countries will hold a plenary meeting and sign a joint declaration. Afterwards they will hold a joint news conference.

President Saakashvili will return to Georgia on 19 June.
