Mikheil Saakashvili met Sergei Ivanov

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili participated in 44th Munich Security conference, and held a meeting with the Vice-Premier of Russian Federation.

"Georgian-Russian relationship is a priority issue for me - stated Mikheil Saakashvili - he highlighted the fact, that the relationships between the two countries should be discussed in normal political and economical aspects.

Sergei Ivanov invited Mikheil Saakashvili to the CIS Leaders informal Summit in Moscow and stated that, the dialog on Russian-Georgian future relations within the CIS format is a rather acceptable form. "This will be a very good opportunity, if we discuss the perspectives on our relationships in informal environment... Russia also seeks that our relations come out of the crisis."

The President of Georgia expressed his readiness to participate in CIS Leaders Informal Summit and meet the President of Russia Vladimer Putin.

"I confirmed my wish on participation in CIS Leaders informal summit and meet the President of Russia Vladimer Putin - stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

The Vice-Premier of Russian Federation Sergei Ivanov expressed his gratitude on Saakashvili's decision.

During this meeting Sergei Ivanov congratulated Mikheil Saakashvili on his second mandate.
