Mikheil Saakashvili symbolically laid the foundation of Black Sea University building. Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the audience and noted that after the completion of the construction the campus will become Georgia's visit card.

"Georgia must primarily be the symbol of educated, modernizes and oriented on future society. Orientation on future is only possible by means of education. We want to build an exceptional building not in London or New York or any other city but here in Georgia. Today we start the construction of such exceptional building of an exceptional university. It has a triple value. First it is an educational center. Second it will be an investment into Georgian economy because tens of millions of investment is put into the construction and functioning of this university. This will create lots of jobs. The third priority is that this University will in reality be a visit card of Tbilisi and Georgia on the whole. I want to bring my words to those people who cynically say that everything abroad is better than here and that will never be able to do the same. Ladies and gentlemen or skeptically oriented people hopelessness is passed. Come to Tbilisi for the best from today on. Georgia creates the best standards from the viewpoint of education, construction, infrastructure and statehood. I want to open today the construction of a grand Campus in Europe", stated President Mikheil Saakashvili.
