The President of Georgia visited the new Ozurgeti clinic

The President of Georgia visited the “Aversi” clinic in Ozurgeti today, which was opened several months ago. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke to the medical personnel, expressed interest in their conditions and whether the local population likes their services or not. The Head of State visited 11 newborns at the hospital.

“I met a friend yesterday, who had the toughest surgery at the Kutaisi Referral Hospital and he is feeling well now. This is how much Kutaisi has achieved in several years. This is the kind of service that should be in every hospital. Insurance companies should work accordingly, and distribute the funds. We have summoned them several times in order to talk about this issue. Additionally, the junior medical personnel should at least have their salaries doubled. This is a deep position of mine. It is impossible otherwise. Some strong surgeons have 7,8,15 thousand GEL salaries and a nurse working next to them only has 150 GEL. This is unfair because this kind of distribution is too unequal. More and more people approach the hospitals and the income should be distributed equally and profits decreased. They should not think about developing other businesses, but they should invest back in this business and give people salaries” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
