Mikheil Saakashvili attended the "Open Government Partnership" conference 

 

The President of Georgia attended the "Open Government Partnership" conference within the scope of the 66th UN General Assembly. The leaders discussed the "Power of Openness" among other issues during the event.

The conference was attended by approximately 200 representatives whom discussed the mechanisms of increasing support, deepening responsibility, increasing productivity, assisting growth, fighting corruption, increasing functionality and using accumulated knowledge in order to create smarter policies and more effective governments in the 21st century.

"Open Government Partnership" is a new international initiative aimed at governments to fulfill their specific obligations in regards to, partnership with civil society, assisting transparency, increasing the role of the community, overcoming corruption and using new technologies in order to strengthen governance.
