Mikheil Saakashvili visited Svaneti region together with the legendary skier. Mikheil Saakashvili and Alberto Tomba skied together on Ushba slope in 3 700 meters above from the sea level.

Alberto Tomba visits Georgia already second time, he now visited Svaneti and noted that this resort has great potential in regards of development. During his conversation with Mikheil Saakashvili he compared Svaneti mountains with Mont Blanc mountains and said that he never saw this beautiful mountains anywhere in Europe before. Mikheil Saakashvili visited ongoing works in Mestia and went to the Hotel "Hostel" that started by the initiative of the Minister of Sustainable development Vera Kobalia. The hotel will host first guests on August 1. 

Mikheil Saakashvili visited piazza in Mestia center. The foundation of piazza was recently laid there. Three new hotel complexes will open on this territory soon that will finally tight the square drafted by the well-known Italian architect Pier Dienne. 

"Mestia will become the favorite place for many tourists soon. The major thing is everyone to have a chance to come here for holidays and it could be available for the students, youth and Georgian sportsmen".

Mikheil Saakashvili went to Sarpi right after Mestia. He dived on the depth of 12 meters together with divers and saw the ship that was sank for the creation of artificial riffs and for the development of diving in Georgia. 

"I was skiing on about 4 thousand meters up from the sea level today and later we dived in about 12 thousand meters depth. Where else is it possible to do it all in one day? Nowhere else there is such clean, water and light water that has such low consistence of salt in it.

We have to underline that Kvariati and Gonio are the best locations in this regard; these places are also one of the most secure places all around the world. It is true that diving school is newly established sphere in Georgia, but we already have pretty high level in it", Mikheil Saakashvili noted.

In order to develop under-water tourism several other projects are planned on Black Sea beaches: artificial riffs will be made and sea-plants planted for the diversity of sea biological beauty. Starting from the next season new tours will be offered to the fans of diving as well.
