President Saakashvili’s announcement at government meeting

President Mikheil Saakashvili discussed a new draft law at the government meeting, prepared by the Parliament's legal committee, which envisions simplification and abolishment of the procedure of granting licenses and permits.

"We should make one more revolution in Georgia, revolution against bureaucracy," the President said adding that the law would significantly facilitate business transactions in Georgia since it abolished all the licenses and agencies that protracted business transactions. "Sakstandarti", the nation standart agency, was among these agencies.

President Saakashvili also commented on staff reshuffle emphasizing his satisfaction with the work of the Presidential Envoy to Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Gigi Ugulava saying that was a prerequisite for appointing him a Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia. As for the appointment of a new Ambassador of Georgia to the Russian Federation, Irakli Chubinishvili, the President said that his task would be to settle strained relationships with Russia.
