President Saakashvili addresses UN General Assembly

President Mikheil Saakashvili in his address made on September 15 at the 60the session of the UN General Assembly put an emphasis on the Abkhazian issue stating that Georgia's democratic and economic development is constrained due to unresolved conflicts on its territory.

According to President Saakashvili hundreds of thousands of people from Abkhazia who were forcibly evicted from their homes, kicked out in a mass expulsion remain unable to return to their homes.

In his address Mikheil Saakashvili particularly emphasized that Georgia will never accept the results of ethnic cleansing stating that "any arguments legitimizing its results are immoral and set dangerous precedents for the future".

President Saakashvili called shocking the fact that the houses from where people were evicted in front of the eyes of the world and the UN monitors were being bought by high government officials from a nearby country and the world says and does nothing about that.
