Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves to visit Georgia on 7 May

Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and his wife Evelin Ilves will pay a visit to Georgia on 7 May. After an official greeting ceremony at the parliament building, Ilves will have a face-fo-face meeting wtih Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. Afterwards Georgian officials and Estonian delegation members will carry on discussions in a wider format. After the talks, the two presidents will hold a news conference.

The Estonian president also plans to meet Georgian Parliament Speaker Nino Burjanadze face-to-face and attend a Georgian-Estonian business forum at the Tbilisi Marriott.

During his visit, President Ilves will lay a wreath at the memorial to those soldiers who perished fighting for Georgia's unity. He will also pay a visit to Tbilisi State University, where he will meet rector Giorgi Khubua and deliver an address to students.

On 8 May the Estonian delegation will travel to Batumi, where President Ilves will meet head of the Ajaria regional government Levan Varshalomidze, as well as local business representatives.

Later, the Estonian delegation will tour the Batumi Botanical Garden and the Gonio Fortress. On 9 May President Ilves and the delegation will leave for Tallinn.
