The President of Georgia attended an event held in the name of the 20th anniversary of the David the Builder National Defense Academy in Gori today. The Commander in Chief addressed the gathered audience and awarded the staff and soldiers with medals of honor.

During his address, Mikheil Saakashvili underscored the merit of the officers, in the country and abroad, while noting that the important tradition of training Georgian officers must continue. He focused attention on the importance of the Georgian soldiers participating in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, and mentioned that Georgia is on the right path. According to the Head of State restoration of the National Defense Academy initiated by him, is serving exactly this purpose.
