A meeting was held between the President of Georgia and the NATO Secretary General within the scope of the 58th Annual NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Prague. Ongoing democratic processes and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the country were the main topics of discussion during the meeting. As Mikheil Saakashvili stated, integration in NATO is an unchanged priority for the country. According to the Head of State, the country will do everything in the next year in order to get closer to NATO, and avoid stopping the progress in this direction as well as development of the country.

While talking to Mikheil Saakashvili, Anders Fogh Rasmussen assessed the Parliamentary elections and stated that they have been held democratically and transparently, which has a tremendous importance for the country. According to him, democratic transfer of power is also notable and this process is going on successfully in Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili is attending the NATO Annual Parliamentary Assembly as a result of an invitation by Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
