Mikheil Saakashvili visited the Batumi University and opened a wax museum there

The Head of State and Levan Varshalomidze congratulated students of the Batumi Art University on the beginning of the academic year and moving to the new building. The President of Georgia familiarized himself with the environment created for students, and promised them equipment with relevant inventory in the future. Later on, Mikheil Saakashvili met with the students and professors at the main hall of the building and spoke to them about the importance of having relevant conditions for the art university. The President of Georgia also spoke about prospects of developing Batumi and noted that aside from tourism, Batumi will become a center of education and art.

The Batumi Art University has moved to a new building. The building previously owned by the first hospital of the city was fully renovated. The university which did not have its own building for 3 years started the new academic year in a new environment.

Later today the Head of State opened a wax museum. The building allocated for the museum is on the list of historic monuments. Over 650 thousand GEL was allocated from the Adjara budget for its rehabilitation works. 500 thousand GEL was spent on decor and wax figures.
