Traditional briefing of the Spokesperson for the President of Georgia

The Spokesperson for the President of Georgia stressed her attention on the events that are planned during this week. In particular official visit of the President of Georgia in Hungary is planned, where the meetings on highest level are on agenda and it serves deepening and strengthening of Georgian-Hungarian partnership relationships. Also the series of visits are planned in Georgia - the visit of the President of European Parliament Jerzy Buzek starts soon.

"The President of European Parliament Jerzy Buzek will visit Tbilisi for two days. A meeting with the President of Georgia is on agenda. Also the President of Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Ray will pay a visit to Tbilisi and by the end of May the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili will open Sarpi newly constructed checkpoint together with the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It has to be noted that the capital will host two delegations of Congressmen in succession. Meetings of high-importance are planned and it will concern future strengthening of Georgian-American relations", Manana Manjgaladze noted.

The Spokesperson spoke about natural disaster that took place in Eastern Georgia, which seriously damaged the country. Bad weather conditions caused even problems to Tbilisi water supply system.

"The President is regularly reported about the situation regarding water supply of the capital, however we have been updated that after reconstructing works water supply returned to regular regime. Also by the latest news the President gave specific tasks related to Kakheti region to the Governors and corresponding agencies", Manana Manjgaladze noted.
