Spokesperson of the President of Georgia Held Traditional Briefing

During her traditional briefing the spokesperson of the President of Georgia Manana Manjgaladze spoke about the events of the last week. She claimed that it was very important period for Georgia's foreign relations. She underlined the President's visit in Italy, where he was personally invited by the President of Italy to the ceremony dedicated to the republic's 150th anniversary.

In the framework of his visit in Italy Mikheil Saakashvili held bilateral meetings. He also met the Vice president of the US.

 "The meeting of Mikheil Saakashvili and Joseph Biden once again proves the US support to Georgian authority and to the undergone and current reforms of the state." - Manana Manjgaladze stated.

The other important fact that the spokesperson focused on was the visit of American congressmen in Georgia. During the meeting the parties discussed political-economic aspects of the US-Georgia relationship, as well as the issues of the US support to continuation of democratic reforms. Security issues were also the main topic of the discussion.

Manana Manjgaladze talked about security issues; particularly she focused on Russia's effort for implementing terrorist acts. She marked two terrorist acts that were deterred by our low enforcement bodies. The spokesperson stated that these terrorist acts are planned by Russia's special servicies with local occupant authority's support.

 "Once again we address to the International Community to use all resources and means to have an influence on the authority of the Russian Federation." - Manana Manjgaladze stated.

During the briefing the spokesperson also talked about future plans. She claimed that in the following week one more group of American congressmen will visit our country and in the nearest future the leaders of several European states will come to Georgia.
